I moved in here 1 week ago, and I've loved it so far! Here are some of the good points I have:
The windows are huge and let a ton of light in, which helps me keep a positive attitude and continue to be in a good headspace.
My 1 bedroom apartment is a good size, more than just me could live in it easily, and any kind of pet would have enough room to run around a play.
The building is well maintained and taken care of, always clean and never any clutter anywhere.
The staff are all great, very personable and friendly.
The issues I have are:
Its always cold in my apartment. I can feel the heat is on and coming out of the vents, but it isn't enough to heat the whole apartment. It frequently gets cold enough for me to feel the cold through jeans, and need a space heater on for it to be comfortably warm.
The windows may be a good point, but they're a bad point as well. My apartment has no room between the windows and the walls, needing a ceiling installed curtain rod. This has been a major headache for me, as i wasn't able to install the rods myself. I had to hire someone to install them for me, and even he had a hard time doing it.
The kitchen has very little counter space and storage. I often use the stove as extra counter space, using my cutting board on one of the elements that is turned off. The only counter space is a corner next to the sink, which is being used to dry my dishes most of the time. This leaves me with almost no counter space at all, but the kitchen is big enough to fit a rolling kitchen island in it for more space. I know i saw the counter space beforehand, and I am okay with it as its just me living here, but it wouldn't be suitable for someone who does a lot of cooking. There is also not a ton of storage for pots and pans, which i am keeping on my countertop until my island gets delivered.
Changing the part about the recycling bins, there is in fact a dumpster style recycling bin. Not sure why the welcome package tells you to break everything down into small pieces when there's a large bin to put them in.
All in all, this place is a good place to live. The positives much outweigh the negatives for me personally, and I find myself being much happier than I was before moving in here. I'm looking forward to living here for a while!
